Reading - The most important skill there is!

In Year 2 children begin to move from just reading words and sentences, to reading books. They are still being taught a daily phonics lesson, however, as they make progress we do see some children move away from the Read Write Inc phonics scheme as they become fluent readers. During the year, children also begin to learn more unusual spelling patterns as well as lots of tricky words and Common exception words.
